Sales and maintenance, one number

Buying the fridge is the easy part

Most Sydney venues buy refrigeration from one supplier and chase a different company when it fails. We do both, so the people who repair your fridge already know exactly which unit they sold you.

Buying guide

How to choose a commercial fridge in Sydney

The right commercial fridge is the one that holds temperature under your worst conditions, not your average ones. A Sydney summer, a full house, and a door that opens two hundred times a night is the real test. Here’s how we work through it with customers.

1. Start with what you’re storing, not the size

Under the Food Standards Code, potentially hazardous food has to be kept at 5°C or colder. That’s the number your fridge has to hit reliably — in the middle of a Sydney heatwave, with a full load, at 7pm on a Saturday. Raw proteins, dairy, prepped mise en place and packaged drinks all behave differently in a cabinet, and a fridge sized for drinks will struggle with warm stock going in.

2. Match the cabinet type to how the kitchen moves

Reaching into an upright twelve times during a plate-up costs you seconds you don’t have. Underbench and prep fridges keep ingredients on the line; uprights and coolrooms hold the bulk. Most kitchens need both.

3. Check the climate class before you buy

This one catches people out. A fridge rated for a cooler ambient will run constantly in an un-airconditioned Sydney kitchen that hits 38°C behind the line, and it will fail early. Ask what ambient temperature the unit is rated to hold at, and be honest about how hot your kitchen actually gets in February.

4. Work out the running cost, not just the price

A commercial fridge runs 24 hours a day for a decade or more. The gap between an efficient unit and a cheap one shows up on every quarterly electricity bill, and it usually swallows the purchase saving within a few years. Look for a well-insulated cabinet, a modern compressor, and doors that seal properly.

5. Ask who fixes it before you need it fixed

Warranty means very little if nobody can get to you for a fortnight. Find out where the technicians are based, whether spare parts are stocked locally, and what a genuine response time looks like. This is exactly why we sell and service under one roof.

Questions we get asked

Commercial fridges in Sydney: FAQ

How much does a commercial fridge cost in Sydney?

Most commercial fridges land between $1,200 and $6,500 depending on type, capacity and brand. Underbench and bar fridges sit at the lower end, two-door uprights and prep benches in the middle, and installed coolrooms start around $8,000. Second-hand units are considerably cheaper. We price-match any comparable quote, so it’s worth calling with a competitor’s number in hand.

Do you deliver and install commercial fridges across Sydney?

Yes. We deliver throughout Sydney metro from our Lansvale warehouse, and ship to regional NSW and nationwide. Installation is available for all units, and coolrooms and freezer rooms are always installed by our team after a site measure. Tell us about stairs, lift access or tight doorways when you order and we’ll plan for it.

Can you repair my commercial fridge the same day?

Often, yes — same-day callout is subject to technician availability and where you are. Maintenance-plan customers get priority response across metro Sydney. If we can’t get to you the same day, we’ll tell you straight away so you can move stock rather than waiting and hoping.

How often should a commercial fridge be serviced?

At minimum once a year. Twice a year is better for busy venues, kitchens that run hot, or anywhere the condenser sits in a greasy or dusty spot. Most premature compressor failures we see trace back to a condenser nobody cleaned. A service visit costs a fraction of a compressor replacement plus lost stock.

What temperature does a commercial fridge need to hold?

Potentially hazardous food must be held at 5°C or below under the Food Standards Code, so most commercial chillers are set to run between +1°C and +4°C to give headroom during service. Freezers should hold at −18°C or colder. We can calibrate your units and supply written temperature records for your food safety program.

Do you sell second-hand commercial fridges?

We buy, sell and trade used commercial refrigeration. Every second-hand unit is inspected, cleaned and gas-tested before it goes on the floor. It’s a sensible way for a new venue or a pop-up to get quality equipment without the full capital outlay. Stock changes constantly, so call to see what’s available.

Will you take my old fridge away?

Yes. We offer trade-in and buy-back on working units, and can arrange removal and responsible disposal of units that are past it. Refrigerant has to be recovered by a licensed technician — it isn’t something to send to the tip yourself.

What warranty comes with a new commercial fridge?

Warranty terms vary by manufacturer, and typically cover parts and labour for a set period with a longer term on the compressor. We’ll confirm the exact warranty for the model you’re considering before you commit, and because we service what we sell, warranty work goes through us rather than a third party.
